Return to the Land of the Giants
This is an account by Ros Brown-Grant who joined our group for the 'North-West Passage' tour. The route threads its way through the western part of the Jotunheim, connecting a series of enchanting DNT (Den Norske Turistforening) 'huts', crossing high cols and broad glaciers, leading from valley to valley over empty mountains. This is a classic hut-to-hut itinerary, as yet not frequently done, but for the two groups we have taken so far it has received 'top marks'. Ros' account is full of anecdote and imagery that gives an excellent picture of what a hut-to-hut skiing tour is like. For anybody who is into cross-country skiing and is looking for something rather more 'far from the madding crowd' then read on for inspiration!
