| Nordic or Telemark skiing – What is it you want to do? An article designed to answer a few of the questions we often get about what we do, or to clarify some of the confusion about the nature of our activity. Is it 'telemark skiing', 'free-heel skiing' or 'Nordic skiing'? Is it 'cross-country', 'ski de fond' or 'langlauf'? What's the difference between Nordic touring, ski mountaineering and telemarking? [READ THE ARTICLE] Telemark and Nordic skiing instruction This is an account by Ros Brown-Grant who joined our group for the 'North-West Passage' tour. The route threads its way through the western part of the Jotunheim, connecting a series of enchanting DNT (Den Norske Turistforening) 'huts', crossing high cols and broad glaciers, leading from valley to valley over empty mountains. This is a classic hut-to-hut itinerary, as yet not frequently done, but for the two groups we have taken so far it has received 'top marks'. Ros' account is full of anecdote and imagery that gives an excellent picture of what a hut-to-hut skiing tour is like.
