Prices in this website are based on costs and exchange rates as of 06/08/10. Prices may change without notice; revised prices will be published on our 'Latest News' page. We sincerely hope that surcharges will not be necessary, but in the unlikely event that they are, you may cancel your booking without penalty if the surcharge amounts to more than 10% of any of our given prices. This has become necessary as a precaution as a result of the dramatic fluctuations and weakening of the Pound in relation to the Euro, Swiss Franc and Norwegian Kroner during the last 3 years.
Finding out more about the trip
You will need more information about the trip or trips you are interested in:
| The relevant Trip Dossier can be obtained by filling in the on-line form, to access and download a pdf version of the Dossier, to have the Dossier e-mailed to you or to have it sent by snail-mail. | |
| The Dossier will have full descriptions of itineraries, details of instruction, travel options, accommodation, costs, etc. plus a Booking Form. | |
| Your booking may be for INSTRUCTION ONLY and/or for TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION or for a FULL PACKAGE. We operate as agents for the major tour operators Crystal, Thomson and First Choice and can conveniently provide travel and accommodation arrangements for any of our instruction or touring trips – see Discounts on the right and Groups below for added incentives! | |
| It is essential to read our Booking Terms and Conditions prior to completing the Booking Form. A signed copy of the Booking Terms and Conditions must be sent to us as soon as you have completed a Booking. | |
| At this stage we are very happy for you to contact us to discuss any aspect of the trips you are interested in. Probably 99% of our clients speak to us on the phone before booking, to check on any aspect of the trip. It is especially worthwhile phoning or e-mailing to discuss skiing ability levels and whether you are considering the most suitable trip from that point of view. |
Booking
| 1 | Once you receive the Trip Dossier you will have everything you need to go ahead with a booking. |
| 2 | Make any relevant travel and accommodation arrangements with us, if not included in your chosen trip arrangements as detailed in the Dossier. Such arrangements may be 'independent' or with a tour operator (see above). |
| 3 | Simply complete the Booking Form and return it with the deposit payment to the Telemark Ski Company to secure your booking. You can also download a Booking Form here to complete and return electronically or by post. |
| 4 | Download and print off the Booking Terms and Conditions, sign and date them and return them by post or they can be scanned and sent electronically. |
| 5 | You will receive a Confirmation of your Booking within 5 working days along with a Statement and other information relevant to your trip. |
| 6 | You will receive a Meeting Up letter approximately 2 weeks prior to your travel date which will include details of the time and place of our introductory meeting, airport transfers (if relevant), confirmation of equipment hires and any other relevant information for your trip. |
Payments
Payments can be made by cheque, internet banking (nil or negligible cost and easy to do), bank transfer or Paypal. Conveniently, you can use your credit card to pay via Paypal on-line. Paypal payments within the UK attract a fee of 3.4% + 20 pence
International bank transfers and Paypal will accrue additional charges (possibly at both the origin and destination bank) and these charges are your responsibility; we will require the full invoiced amount to reach our account. Paypal international charges are 3.9% + £0.20 pence, on the basis that the invoice you receive and the transaction is in £ Sterling.
For internet payments and bank transfers, please contact us direct for our bank details.
Payments for courses or tours will normally be in 2 stages:
| a deposit at the time of booking. | |
| the balance, usually no later than 8 weeks prior to your departure date or as specified on your Confirmation Letter. |
N.B. If bookings are made less than 8 weeks prior to the departure date full payment will normally be required when you book.
To minimise bank transfer or Paypal costs you may choose to pay in full at the time of booking i.e. a single transfer subject to charges. As for all monies we receive, refunds in event of cancellation, etc. will still be possible as detailed in the Booking Conditions (see Trip Dossier).
Insurance
It is a condition of joining our trips that you must be adequately insured. All persons are expected to arrange their own insurance and we highly recommend that you have this insurance in place when you book with us (in case of cancellation due to health issues or other reasons prior to your departure date). Polices should cover any potential risks involved in a winter sports holiday. We ask for copy of your policy to be sent in with your completed booking form.
Snowcard Insurance Services specialize in all mountain sports holidays including Alpine and Telemark skiing (both on- and off-piste), Nordic skiing and the various forms of ski-touring. Their policies include emergency medical and repatriation expenses as well as mountain rescue. They are also able to insure personal belongings including equipment as well as travel cover for cancellation, delay and missed departure. Click on Snowcard to obtain full information and a quote.
The Telemark Ski Company do not act as an agent for Snowcard Insurance and we are unable to give any advice relating to travel insurance.
